I get collector armor, because it's free, and it looks better than droks armor.

I usually use it till I can afford some 15k stuff

My guess is that he might have been what I've been toying with also:

Kinetic Armor
Armor of Earth

.
Of course, if he's a truly good caster, he's letting the tank drawing the aggro focus and is therefore rarely hit at all
I assumed he was using the earth armors, but they won't help against the mursaat special attack and without armor he'd take the full degen (-9?). Plue there are a lot of enemy mesmers. Again I should have paid more attention but considered him an annoyance. Perhaps he was /mesmer and was removing hexes off himself, I don't know.

Our tank (the 2nd warrior left) did a good job but the team was fairly disorganized and there was no way he was avoiding being attacked.

Its not like getting ran from Ascalon to Lion's Arch, skipping all the missions.

As long as you make it to Beacon's on your own, its not cheating. However if anyone makes it there by getting ran there, yeah, you're a cheater and deserve to be hated on.

Looks. that's the only diffrence between max collectors. 55 monks with little cash get collectors.

Let me make it easy for you to both find the collectors female necro armor and explain what's so good about collectors armor.

It's about looks, that's it. (that and saving up for 15k armor, bypassing droks' armor.. but.. that's about looks as well, so I'll stick to my point, I'm a shallow person who thinks the game is about looks)

Here are a couple more shots of the Crystal Desert collector armor for female necro, dyed blue. Any questions?

What's the point?

Lets see. The desert collector's stats are the same as Droknars, unless you want energy boost and etc. Costs less. Like lg500 said, bypass Droknars armor and get a 15k.

I dont see why your badmouthing collectors....ive used the desert collectors armor as armor for many of my chars, just untill i get enough for 15k, it saves people money...dont see what the problem is. and if it were better than the armor you buy, then there would be no point to have armor traders, now would there.

Why???

A. It's cheaper, with better AL (until you get to Droknar's).

B. It looks different.

C. Sometimes you do not know what to do collector's items.

Necro and Ele armour doesn't give you an energy boost so it's just about looks. I chose Monk collectors because I thought it looked better on my monk. On top of that, if you need the +5 energy you get from tats, you're a bad healer/prot.

It's actually +8. No, you don't need it. For PvE, you could probably also do fine using pre-searing armor. Is it helpful? Yes.

Plus, with tats, a Monk can hit 55 energy (with 4 energy regen) for only 4k + mats (it takes 200 parchment, but the rest of the mats are very cheap).

Oh, and Necros do get an energy bonus from scar armor.

I am a huge fan of collectors' armors

1. First of all, this is a chance to get a few pieces (max protection) before reaching Droknar - i.e. if you do not run down to rankor... -

2. Nice way for "poor" players to get a chance to acquire a near free armor

3. some of them look better than Drok's armors... (ele, necro, not to mention the mesmer one which is a must see !!!)

One regret, they never allow you to get an extra mana point or else... they're just basic armors...

Anet: please change these collector armors to give the same +energy bonus as droknar's Glads, and tattoo armours: save us warriors, monks and necro's from having to walk around like people who cannot afford clothes!

Desert collectors head armor is IDENTICAL in stats to Drok's armor.

At least for elementalists.

Head armor doesn't get the +15 AL against one element, which is all the collectors armor otherwise lacks.

what i like about collector is that it's free. well, you can farm your butt off to get the materials or buy them. anyway, i like collector's armor because of it's look. either keep the full set or you can mix it with other armor which occassionally comes out looking great.
